Textile fragment with rosettes and quatrefoils

Details

  • Catalogue text

Small eight-petalled rosettes and dots are set in between quatrefoils, as in Cat. no. 320 [EA1990.329]. The design is brown on a white ground.

The similarity to Cat. no. 320 [EA1990.329] is very close, both in design and technical details, such as thread count, colour of dye, and dye saturation. The fragment is possibly part of the same fabric. The reverse is heavily saturated with dye.
